12-Day Uganda Gorillas & Maasai Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Spend the day relaxing, exploring the city, or visiting the Uganda Museum and craft markets. This is the perfect time to acclimatize and prepare for your safari adventure. Overnight in Kampala.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest wildlife reserve. Enjoy lunch en route before checking into your lodge. Later, relax or take a short nature walk in the park. The evening offers a chance to spot wildlife at the lodge grounds. Overnight in Murchison Falls.

Day 3: Game Drive & Nile River Launch Cruise

Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the park to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffalo. After lunch, take a Nile River launch cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, enjoying hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species along the riverbanks. Sunset views at the falls are spectacular. Overnight in Murchison Falls.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Drive to Kibale National Park, famous for its habituated chimpanzees. Along the way, enjoy scenic landscapes and stop at local villages. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge and prepare for the next day’s chimp trekking adventure. Overnight in Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Early morning, embark on chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. Observe chimpanzees and other primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, spotting birds, butterflies, and small mammals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at scenic viewpoints and the Equator line for photos. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a relaxing afternoon or optional evening game drive. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with a morning game drive in the park’s savannah and forests, spotting lions, leopards, elephants, and antelopes. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Capture the beautiful sunset over the water before returning to your lodge. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The journey passes through picturesque tea and coffee plantations and traditional villages. Check into your lodge and relax before the gorilla trekking experience the following day. Overnight in Bwindi.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the highlight of your safari – gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Accompanied by expert trackers, you’ll hike through dense forest to observe a gorilla family up close. Spend a magical hour with these gentle giants, taking photos and learning about their behavior and conservation. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Fly to Entebe and proceed to Maasai Mara, Kenya

You will wake up int the morning and take a local flight to Entebbe, and proceed to Masai Mara,

Day 11: Full Day Game Drives in Maasai Mara

Spend the day exploring the Maasai Mara, famous for its abundant wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. Your guide will take you to the best spots for game viewing and photography. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before an afternoon game drive. Overnight in Maasai Mara.

Day 12: Departure via Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Maasai Mara (optional). Then, drive to Nairobi for your departure flight. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a brief city tour or souvenir shopping. Your unforgettable East African safari concludes here.
